I guess this is what summer hiatuses do to me...
Remember a little while ago when I recced an SGA/Avatar: The Last Airbender fusion, and mentioned that I never watched the latter, but found the universe descriptions in the fusion really vivid and fascinating? Well, I just spent the last few hours watching the first eight episodes (please don't spoil me for later ones), and I may have to face the possibility that the cartoon has me hooked. *sigh*

Avatar is a really awesome cartoon, and if you're liking the first season, all I will tell you is that everyone I've talked to agrees that the second season kind of blows it out of the water.

I really like the worldbuilding, their quest works great as a hook, and the weird animal designs are just fun. Also the fight scenes with that martial arts/elements combination are cool. And I like that the Fire Nation and its army do horrible things, but the individuals aren't all evil or anything.

The worldbuilding is fantastic, and I like how everything has consequences in their universe. I also like how they demonstrate that you can be a hero even if you're not perfect. If I had kids, I'd want them to watch it, you know?
