urgh. (whining and an offer to sketch you a monster)
So in an attempt to start relying less on LJ's ScrapBook gallery functions I just spent the last few hours uploading all my drawble artwork (over 60 images) to my webspace, created thumbnails (thankfully I found a shell command automating that step), coded them to display on my page for assorted sketches, complete with the annotations that used to be gallery labels showing as mouseover, i.e. for whom I did it and what the prompts were.

Then I changed at least the posts for the most recent drawbles to link to these images instead of the LJ hosted ones, that in *three* places, what with the crossposting. I do not look forward to do that for the rest of the drawbles, let alone all the entries showing rat pictures, and scans, and what not. Gah. It's not that I'd be that thrilled to pay them again as if nothing had happened, but I could have read another SGA Big Bang novel in this time, you know? And at least this part led to some vague improvement in that more of my art shows on my site, editing to relink most other other content won't do anything of the sort. *feels conflicted* Maybe I should consider letting posts just break...

Anyway, I feel like drawing monsters, which I haven't done in a while, so if anyone's interested and maybe wants a monster drawing, you could prompt me with a description or some features. I do somewhat cute monsters better than truly scary ones, but I can try to be scary.

Draw me a huge, floating transluscent jellyfish-like creature with visible internal organs, huge tusks on the bottom, and that looks in general like it might sort of just drift around, waiting for some hapless person to come around, so it could then attach itself to their head and suck the life force out of them.

I don't think I understood how you wanted the tusks, but I hope you still like this one:

I don't want to draw canon monsters or creatures, and match them to something already existing. I'm doodling original monsters and offer to be inspired by prompts. You can get a cute furry monster, but I'm not going to draw an Ewok.

*ggg* I seriously shudder at pustules. I discovered or imagined to discover that my right foot no longer was made of flesh but of lumps, so I just blurted out pustules initially. Otherwise, fluff! Tufts! :)

Can I stupidly ask if a shell command is very different to a batch process (recorded action applied to a folder of images) in PS? I have 4-5000 images in scrapbook *sigh*

Monster. Big paws are cute. A trunk. Pustules? Tufts of hair!

Um, I suspect it's different. I use linux, I have no idea how photoshop works, or what this batch process you speak of is. I just opened my shell (like a terminal console) and used the "mogrify" command from an set of image manipulating commands that were already installed on my linux to create jpeg thumbnails in the size and compression I wanted. I didn't need to write a script or anything.

I can try a werewolf as long as it doesn't have to be one from a specific source. I just don't want to use image references to match some canon and to make it look like intended, you know?

Creature that uses cuteness as a weapon? I'm picturing something with big eyes and a stinger waiting to strike.

So...what if Snape were a monster.

Covered in shiny black hair, dark eyes, pale face and hands, sharp teeth, big nose, and wings like a bat. :)

Is it cheating to ask twice?

Something with large brass antlers, very large shoulders, lots of spikes, with various eyes and pointy-toothed mouths all over it. Tentacles. And somewhere in there work in an eight-pointed star. It should be laughing, too, like it's just having a jolly good time.
