SGA AU insta-rec
So, I'm going to include this in my next AU recs update too, but you should read it right away, because it is an awesome story with John as an AI, that is heart-breaking at times, but also funny in places, and just great reading all around: Male Enhancement (The Soul and the Company Store Remix), by Leah. Slash, John Sheppard/Rodney McKay, Carson Beckett, Radek Zelenka. (ca. 46,500 words)

God I loved it ^-^ Thank you for the link!

BTW, do you know of any good SGA fics
in which John Sheppard has a twin brother?
Two of 'em would be awesome *grin

A twin? I'm afraid not. There's that AU where the genetherapy makes Rodney look like John, iirc, and then in a quantum mirror thing their counterparts from another universe show up (that's Mirror Dance by trinityofone), but nothing with a twin.

Also I vaguely remember after the recent eps that there were some episode tags involving Doppelganger!Sheppard as well as Clone!Sheppard, but I'm not actually that fond of duplicate Sheppards so I don't think I've read/boomarked any, but if you take a look at the newsletter days after those aired or at the episode tag categories at Crossroads you might find stuff with two Sheppards as well.

Thanks :) Well, I dont like clone-fics that much too. With a few exceptions, of course. Like "Progeny", the fifth of five drabbles, that can be found here: http://community.livejournal.com/sga_flashfic/558901.html But what I meant was no clone, but, well, a (geek-)brother of John. I just once read a story in which Sheppard had a twin brother on earth who had chosen the academic career instead of air force. Rodney found out by scrolling through old pictures of John and his two cats. John says the pics show his brother too. Rodney doesn't see it until John tells him his brother looks like him ;) Well, Rodney is all excited over it. He's expecting the twin-brother must have the same strong ATA-gene like John and wants to invite him to Atlantis. John is against it. Two years later John gives in and his brother joins them... after that it was only once mentioned that the city has unexpected reactions to both brothers now. Like the city is >smitten< *grin Well, I thought it was a funny idea. But unfortunately the story got on focusing on McShep only. The brother was never mentioned again after they brought him to Atlantis. That was r-e-a-l-l-y odd. ______________________________________________________________________ But now something else: I want to recommend a fanfic too :) http://kellifer-fic.livejournal.com/46716.html http://kellifer-fic.livejournal.com/47745.html#cutid1 The One-Shot "Minor in Action" and the multi-chaptered sequel "The Past always finds you" - both gen It starts incredibly funny. Sheppard and Lorne somehow manage to revert themselves to 5-years-old kids. First only physically while their minds are unchanged. It's funny to read how Weir can hardly suppress the urge to ruffle their hair and John is about to snap if anybody dares... But then their memories start to fade and they are more and more acting like children. Though it is a joy to read the first part, it's the sequel that gives the story depth: The continuation "The past always finds you" becomes much more serious quickly and has some very sad moments. The story tells alternately about what's going on in Atlantis and how John and Evan grow up offworld. Until the boys finally return 15 years later... The end is surprising and totally unexpected and I still haven't decided if it is a beautiful one or a sad one. Both probably.

Thanks for the recs, though I think I've read both stories already.
